Donations

DLC depends on generous charitable gifts to fulfill the center’s mission to be an inclusive, innovative educational community and is committed to honoring and developing each person’s gifts. Parents, board members, alumni, grandparents, alumni parents, friends, and other community friends ensure the present and future success of DLC through their monetary gifts.

Giving to DLC builds a strong, energized, and involved community.  We value donor generosity and volunteer service.  Both forms of giving make a difference, but it is the financial support that makes it possible to literally turn on the lights each day, pay teacher salaries and benefits, and offer expanded programs for all students.

DLC funding includes contributions from grants, Federal funding, businesses and individual donations. Monetary contributions are intended to be expended in the year in which they are raised. Major gifts for capital improvements are deferred for operating, capital or DLC’s scholarship funds.

Other Ways to Support DLC

Gifts of cash and appreciated securities help DLC immediately. Other ways to support DLC’s mission and vision includes:

• Volunteer to serve as part of the fundraising team
• Volunteer as a phonathon caller for the school’s annual telephone solicitations
• Provide photography services for special events hosted by DLC
• Assist with bulk mailings.
• Provide design and printing services for publications and other printed materials
• Volunteer for field trips and in the classroom
• Provide a meaningful internship opportunity for an upper school student at your place of work
• Provide ideas for special service that will support DLC’s mission…please call and discuss your ideas with DLC management.

Annual Fund

The Annual Fund is the most important gift that the center asks of directors, parents, past parents, grandparents, and the community each year.  By participating in the Annual Fund, you make a significant difference in two ways.  All gifts contribute to the total funds raised and all gifts contribute to participation rates.  High levels of participation among DLC’s supporters demonstrate to the larger community that DLC is worthy of their support.

The Annual Giving Program provides immediate, tangible benefits for our students and faculty through support of:

• Enriched educational programs for all students reflecting the Christian testimonies of peace, simplicity, equality and truth
• Curriculum and technology enhancements
